About This Course

This course is accredited and approved by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). On completion professionals will earn 2 ECSA CPD Points. PMI Certificate holders will be eligible to claim 7 PDUs from the Project Management Institute (PMI)  In this course, you will learn about the various techniques and principles involved in estimating, costing, and pricing construction projects. • This chapter covers the general principles of planning and scheduling, including the establishment and role of planning and scheduling, securities and insurances, escalation, pricing data and standard units, and the schedule of quantities (BOQ). It includes definitions and activities related to the BOQ.
   

Chapter 4: Measurement

• This chapter covers measurement in planning and scheduling, including field investigation, units of measurement, rules of measurement, coding, numbering, and the preparation of the schedule of quantities (SoQ). It includes activities related to these concepts.

• This chapter covers client costing in planning and scheduling, including change management, the accuracy of costing, fixed and variable costs, direct and indirect costs, hidden costs and contingencies, and practical costing. It includes activities related to these concepts.
   

Chapter 7: Tenderer Pricing

• This chapter covers tenderer pricing in planning and scheduling, including site visits and investigation, keeping records and collecting information, production determination, profits and mark-up, time calculation vs. client requirement, and practical pricing. It includes activities related to these concepts
   

Chapter 8: Contract Completion

• This chapter covers contract completion in planning and scheduling, including recording of information, cash flow, S-curves, and cost management.
